Ramset’s CableMaster series has been a staple for plumbers, sparkies and other MEP tradies for years. The compact gas fastening tool has taken another leap in productivity with its latest iteration: The CableMaster™ C-Plus®.
Size doesn’t always matter, and the CableMaster™ C-Plus® proves that in spades. Small and mighty, the tool delivers an impressive 95j of power, resulting in superior reliability and fewer failed shots into tougher materials like concrete.

“This iteration of CableMaster™ increases from 82j to 95j of impact energy while getting smaller and lighter in the process,” Ramset™ ANZ Tool and Consumables Product Manager Simon Babcock said. “It’s going to increase productivity significantly in those key areas of use which are overhead applications and tight spaces.”
The C-Plus® is shorter than the CableMaster™ 800 and 800 Plus by about 55mm. It’s also significantly lighter to the tune of 300g according to Simon, making it an invaluable asset to tradies who spend hours fastening.
“If you’re using this all day, every day, at various angles, then that weight adds up and ultimately makes for better ergonomics overhead,” Simon added.
Time well saved
Not only is the C-Plus® powerful and small, it’s efficient as well. The tool boasts an insane jump in shots per battery of 10,000 versus about 3500 in previous models. This naturally means it can go ages on site without having to worry about putting down the C-Plus® and taking a break.
Simon said this massive step forward was possible due to technological advancements in the industry and improvements in battery-life measuring. This increase in capacity is the icing on the cake for a tool that already cuts down on time thanks to not having to drill or plug holes.
Ramset’s gas-powered tools and Pulsa™ battery technology have always been cutting-edge and the C-Plus® is no different. Compared to typical battery-powered tools, gas technology cuts the weight of the tool by 30 per cent, which is a lifesaver for the arms and back. Pulsa™ tech also has tradies shooting up to five times more (equivalent to 3km of cables) than its battery equivalent, and the tool doesn’t lose any penetration power even when low on power.
The C-Plus® also has significantly reduced hand and arm vibration for improved ergonomics, and minimises dust exposure because there’s no drilling needed.
Built to perform
The C-Plus® is an excellent mix of power and speed, with a number of tradies giving it their stamp of approval. As with many of its tools, Ramset™ ensured the C-Plus® got as much feedback on how the tool performed from the front line as possible.
The verdict: A-plus.
“The tradies who helped test it really appreciated the drop in weight and the compact nature of the tool itself, as well as the increased power which helps with less failed shots,” Simon said.
“It’s definitely had a positive reception so far.”
We’ve spoken tonnes about the power the C-Plus® brings, but there’s plenty of physical additions that make it efficient as well. The tool’s removable support leg at the base of the magazine allows you to keep the C-Plus® at a 90-degree angle when fastening, and the reduction in size can be felt in the tool clearance, with the nozzle able to reach deep into corners for close-quarter contouring jobs.
On the other end, the C-Plus’ belt hook allows for further manoeuvrability – up to 180° of rotation, and should you need more nails for a job, the C-Plus® has an optional 30-pin magazine available. For MEP tradies, there really is no tool more built for Aussie conditions than the C-Plus®. The too made massive improvements over previous generations, making it the modern tool for performance-loving tradies.
“It’s small but mighty,” Simon said. “It’s got the power of the previous generations and more.”
