Travelling VIC apprentices can score half off their rego under a new scheme from the state government.
Apprentices in the state who need to travel to NSW or SA for work will get the discount as part of the Trade Apprentice Registration Discount plan.
This includes bricklaying, carpentry, electrical and plumbing apprentices among others.

“We’re putting more money back in the pockets of Victorian apprentices so they can get the skills they need for their future careers,” Victorian Roads and Road Safety Minister Melissa Horne said.
“Bricklayers, carpenters, joiners, electricians and plumbers rely on our roads to get to and from each job – with many travelling across the border for work.
“That’s why we’re giving our apprentices the support they need, with the expansion of the this scheme to ensure those who travel to NSW and SA for work have access to the same discounts.”
The Trade Apprentice Registration Discount started up in 2016 to reduce costs for VIC apprentices using their vehicles for work.
About 400 Victorians are completing their apprenticeships in NSW and SA according to the government.
