When AEG told us their stereo was tough it was like waving a red rag at bull. One was immediately obtained for a Tough Test and we got set to investigate its pain threshold.
Before we tried to break it, we looked at a few of its features which were impressive for its modest price of $199. Standout functions were its official IPOD docking port as well as the usual MP3 cable connector with cable included – always a welcome addition. The remote control and included battery was another great feature and rare addition to a neat little package. However all the functionality in the word means nothing unless it can withstand a few hard knocks. The bullbar protection looked like it was pretty tough with suspension like mounts, so we set about finding out just how tough.
