Right when you thought the battle for cordless-work site supremacy might be finally slowing down from the breakneck speed at which the big players in the industry have been relentlessly producing greater and more powerful cordless power tools, Bosch has gone and upped the ante with its brand-new 7.0Ah, high-performance battery. This bad boy produces 87% more power than the previous 18V 6.0Ah battery and is 28% smaller than comparable high-performance batteries. It’s also sporting optimised performance and a longer lifespan due to the COOLPACK 2.0 technology. Even better is the fact it’s fully compatible with all other 18V Bosch Professional tools.
The team at Bosch has managed to pack more power than ever before into a very compact unit. The message that tradies wanted more power with compact, longer-lasting batteries has been heard and, even better, acted upon.

MORE FOR LONGER
The ProCORE18V 7.0Ah battery pack allows for significantly higher efficiency than its predecessor. Two examples: when drilling with a 32mm-diameter spade bit in softwood, the GSB 18V-85 C Professional cordless Hammer Drill produced 50% more holes per battery charge when fitted with the ProCORE18V 7.0Ah instead of the previous 18V 6.0Ah battery; and on the GBH 18V-26 F Professional cordless rotary hammer, the high-performance battery achieved a 75% increase in drilling depth at a diameter of 25mm in C30/37 concrete. This significant power increase is thanks to an improved cell design and measures taken to minimise internal resistances.
At the same time, the ProCORE18V 7.0Ah battery is very compact.

COOLPACK TECHNOLOGY
Bosch has optimised its proven COOLPACK technology even further, meaning this high-performance battery can handle higher power demand over a longer period. This quality differentiates the ProCORE18V 7.0Ah substantially from comparable competitor models.
Overall, the COOLPACK technology helps to substantially prolong the battery’s lifetime compared to a conventional battery without COOLPACK technology. Both the material and the special design, aimed at maximizing the surface area, facilitate better heat dissipation. In addition, the battery is designed without any internal spacing. That ensures the heat it produces is not stored in the interior. Improved cell connectors made from copper provide lower resistances and more power as a result. The battery pack has special openings for heat dissipation during the charging process as well. The cooling feature means that the battery can be charged very quickly directly after use. The five-level LED display allows tradies to keep the charge level of the ProCORE 18V 7.0Ah under control at all times.
