Old Ruins and Ragged Hills

Ron and Viv Moon hit the regional Queensland copper trail.

The track wound along the valley, crossing infrequent creeks and climbing the occasional rocky hill as we headed deeper into the labyrinth of the Fountain Range; south of the Barkly Highway and southwest of the outback Queensland town of Cloncurry.

Mt Isa is the main town in the region and is dominated by the mines and smelter. The town is just over 900 kilometres west of Townsville and has everything for any outback adventure seeker.
