Smashing (glass) ceilings at Women In Industry Awards 2024

Women In Industry

IT’S NOT uncommon for a woman’s hard yakka to go unnoticed in the trades industry. With so many male-dominated professions involving tradies, it’s important to recognise women who have excelled both in leadership and innovation.

After a hugely successful 2023, the 2024 Women in Industry Awards is slated to be a blockbuster event.

“The awards are an opportunity to recognise the contribution of women in industry and their amazing examples for the next generations,” Atlas Copco HR Business Partner Fiona Halliday said.
“Atlas Copco sponsors the awards to show our commitment to females in non-traditional industries and how we can find a better way towards equal representation.
“We love taking our team to the celebration and showing them the example that is set by all of these amazing women.”

A record-setting 160 nominations were put forward across 10 award categories for the 2023 awards. This marked a massive 95 per cent increase from 2022. The awards are capped off with a special gala night, which experienced a
55 per cent increase in attendance at this year’s awards. Atlas Copco is joined by Fulton Hogan, Paccar and Sew-Drive, Komatsu and COG Advertising as primary sponsors for 2024.

“Fulton Hogan are proud to sponsor the Women in Industry – Women of the Year award for another year in 2024,” Fulton Hogan CEO Graeme Johnson said.
“This sponsorship demonstrates our commitment to supporting and driving change within predominantly male industries, doing what we can to make heavy industry more attractive and accessible for women to join and stay.
“Fulton Hogan recognises that diversity is not only essential for us to change, adapt and grow, but it also good for business and results in happier workplaces with a better culture leading to better retention of our people.”

However, there’s still plenty of time for more sponsors to get onboard this worthwhile event. Sponsorship enquiries can be found here.

The 2024 Women in Industry Awards will be held on June 20 in Sydney. Nominations are open, and can be done here.

“PACCAR has a long and proud history of supporting women in all areas of its global businesses and recognises programs such as Women in Industry Awards help promote women more broadly than its own company and industry,” Pacccar Australia’s Director of Sales and Marketing Michael Long said.

“Being part of the awards helps us further our goal of celebrating and championing inclusion and diversity in the workplace.”
